Scored, weighted, and prioritised by impact — not a 200-item warning list you will never work through.

We ran a Shopify store SEO audit on our own store expecting to find a mess, and instead we found very little wrong. That was genuinely good to know — but it raised an expensive question. We were paying an outside group over $200 a month for ongoing SEO, and running two separate SEO apps on top of that. If the audit says the work is done, why are we still paying every month for it? Over a year that is real savings sitting in plain sight.

That is the problem with how SEO usually gets sold to store owners. Most tools hand you several hundred issues with no sense of proportion, so everything looks equally urgent, nothing gets fixed, and the monthly retainer renews on the assumption that there must still be work to do. Nobody ever tells you when you are actually in good shape.

This audit weights its dimensions deliberately. A duplicate meta description across forty collection pages and a store search engines cannot crawl properly are not the same problem, and the report says so. You get a score, a prioritised fix list, and — just as usefully — a clear read on what is already fine.

You are probably here because

  • You are paying a monthly SEO retainer and cannot tell what it is actually fixing any more.
  • You are running one or more SEO apps and still have no idea where your store really stands.
  • Your traffic is almost entirely paid and organic has never grown.
  • You installed an SEO app, saw hundreds of warnings, and closed it.
  • You have collections and product pages that have never received a single search visitor.

What the check looks at

  • Technical foundation — crawlability, indexation, sitemap and robots signals
  • On-page signals across product, collection and content pages
  • Content depth against real buyer intent
  • Performance signals that affect ranking
  • Local presence signals, weighted separately, if you serve a physical area
  • A prioritised fix list ordered by likely impact — and an honest read on what is already healthy

How it works

1

Paste your URL

No install, no repo access, no credit card. The check runs against your live site exactly as a visitor or crawler sees it.

2

Get a scored breakdown

Every dimension is scored and weighted, so you can see which single issue is costing you the most rather than staring at a flat list of warnings.

3

Keep the report

You get a shareable results link and a downloadable report you can hand to a developer, a client, or a buyer asking hard questions.

Shopify itself is a solid foundation. It is stable, it is secure, and it dominates the market for good reason — we moved to it from WooCommerce and never looked back. But a stable platform does not automatically mean a visible store, and it does not mean your retainer is still earning its keep. Once you know where you actually stand, that becomes a decision instead of an assumption. The harder question we ran into next was whether our store was ready for AI-driven search at all — that is a separate audit, and it did not go nearly as well.

Run it on your own site

You get a score, the specific findings, and a report you keep — whether or not you ever talk to us.

Questions

How is this Shopify store SEO audit different from an app in the Shopify store?

Most apps optimise for finding the largest possible number of issues, because a big number feels thorough. This weights dimensions by impact and gives you an ordered fix list, so you know what to do on Monday morning — and it will tell you when something is already fine rather than padding the list.

Can a Shopify store SEO audit tell me if I still need my monthly SEO retainer?

It can give you the evidence to make that call. It shows you what is genuinely broken, what is already healthy, and how big each remaining gap is. We ran it on our own store, found very little wrong, and had to ask ourselves why we were still paying over $200 a month plus two apps for work that appeared to be done.

Do I need to install anything on my store?

No. You paste your store URL. Nothing is installed and no app permissions are requested.

Does it cover local SEO?

Yes, if you tell it you serve a physical area. Local presence is then scored as its own weighted dimension with a breakdown of the individual signals. If you are online-only, it is excluded and the other dimensions are reweighted so your score stays fair.
