Is my website AI search ready?
A free readiness snapshot showing how AI systems and shopping assistants currently see your brand.
If you are asking is my website AI search ready, let me tell you how we found out we were not. We run a Shopify store. We had just come off an SEO audit that came back clean, so we were feeling good. Then we ran the AI commerce readiness audit on the same store, and that was the real wake-up call. We are not ready. Not close.
Two things came back hard. First, our standard templates are slow — two to three seconds — and that is costing us real money in conversions every single day. Second, and more importantly, there was almost nothing an AI agent could actually use to recommend us. Our product data was thin, our content was generic, and the things a model needs in order to describe us accurately and justify picking us over someone else simply were not there. We had applied for the Agentic Storefront, which links your store and a knowledge base into the AI channels — but the audit made it obvious that syndicating an unready store just broadcasts how unready you are. The pipe exists. We had nothing good to put through it.
This matters because more and more people are using agents as their search engine. They describe what they need, the assistant returns a shortlist with reasons, and you are either on it or you are invisible — and you never even see the query. AI is not a trend or a fad. This is Blockbuster and Netflix again, then Netflix DVDs and Netflix streaming. Search is changing and the businesses that wait will play a horrible game of catch-up, or they will not catch up at all.
You are probably here because
- We asked an assistant to recommend brands in our category and we were not mentioned once.
- Our store runs on standard templates that load in two to three seconds, and we know that is costing conversions.
- Our product information is thin or lives in images, so there is nothing specific for a model to extract.
- We connected an AI shopping channel and could not tell whether it was actually doing anything for us.
What the check looks at
- Discoverability — whether AI systems can locate and access your content at all
- Accuracy — whether what you publish is specific enough to be described correctly
- Trust signals a model can corroborate
- Recommendation readiness — whether there is a stated reason to choose you over an alternative
- Performance and template speed, because slow pages cost conversions before AI ever enters the picture
- Your readiness score, maturity level, top three opportunities and top three risks
How it works
Paste your URL
No install, no repo access, no credit card. The check runs against your live site exactly as a visitor or crawler sees it.
Get a scored breakdown
Every dimension is scored and weighted, so you can see which single issue is costing you the most rather than staring at a flat list of warnings.
Keep the report
You get a shareable results link and a downloadable report you can hand to a developer, a client, or a buyer asking hard questions.
We left WooCommerce for Shopify because we were tired of vulnerable apps, constant security issues and clunky checkouts, and Shopify genuinely solved that — it is stable, it is secure, and it dominates for good reason. But stability is not the same as readiness. Standard storefront templates are not built for this shift, and in the long run they cost more than they save. We are now looking hard at headless architecture and real agentic integration so we do not get left behind by the next change in how people search.
Run it on your own site
You get a score, the specific findings, and a report you keep — whether or not you ever talk to us.

Is my website AI search ready if it already ranks well on Google?
Not necessarily, and this catches a lot of store owners out. Traditional SEO competes for position on a results page. AI readiness is about whether a model can extract accurate, specific, corroborated facts about you and then justify recommending you. Our SEO audit came back almost clean and our AI readiness audit came back as not ready. They measure different things.
Does connecting an AI shopping channel make my store AI ready?
It makes your store reachable, which is not the same thing. Those channels syndicate the product data and policy information you already have. If your metadata is thin and your descriptions are generic, an agent still has no substantive reason to put you on a shortlist. Readiness is about the quality of what gets syndicated, not the connection itself.
Do I need to block or allow AI crawlers?
If you want to be recommended, they need access. Plenty of stores are invisible to AI simply because a robots file or a firewall rule is quietly turning those crawlers away, or because the product facts only appear after JavaScript runs. The check flags where your current configuration is working against you.
Does this only apply to product brands?
It is most direct for product brands, because assistants are actively building purchase shortlists right now. The same signals apply to services, just with a longer feedback loop.
